RichFaces Wait Dialog

Introduction

This post presents a so-called wait dialog using RichFaces 4. The purpose of the dialog is to act as a visual cue that a process is running and to wait while the process executes.

In web development, such a dialog is often presented when the form is submitted.



The code below describes a typical submit button. The “onclick” keyword is used to present the dialog above which is identified as “id-busy” by its id keyword (id=”id-busy”). Once clicked, the even will show the dialog. When the process completes (oncomplete) the dialog will be hidden from view.
